2018 Honda Odyssey Official Release Date
The next-generation Odyssey brings new features and technologies for the 2018 model year and has an official release date of spring of 2017. Honda has built off the family-friendly design of the popular minivan and added convenience and safety features to bring it to a whole new level. Here is some information on the new features for the 2018 Honda Odyssey which will be available at Heritage Honda starting this spring.
2018 Odyssey Technology Features
Honda makes in-vehicle connectivity for Odyssey customers a top priority with features that are easy and convenient for passengers. For the 2018 model year, the Odyssey will feature a new display audio which features a new Honda-developed operating system, more menus, and customizable app tiles, and will include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. CabinWatch is a system which uses a camera to let the driver and front passenger keep watch on passengers on the 8-inch Display Audio screen. The Connected Rear Entertainment System will feature a new “How Much Farther?” app which lets the passengers track the trip progress all from the 10.2-inch screen. CabinControl is a convenient system that is a downloaded app, where users can use their smartphone to control the rear entertainment system, rear cabin heat and air conditioning, and send destinations to the Honda navigation system.
For the new model year, the Honda Odyssey will feature new Magic Slide seats. The second-row seat will be easily reconfigurable for ultimate convenience. There are four modes available including Easy Access, Super, Wide and Buddy modes. The various settings help with loading cargo, accessing the third row and help provide maximum comfort for all passengers.
2018 Odyssey Engine Options
The 2018 Honda Odyssey will be powered by a 3.5-liter direct injection I-VTEC V6 engine with Variable Cylinder Management. Honda is offering two new transmissions, a 9-speed automatic and, for upper grades an all-new, 10-speed automatic. The advanced new powertrains, paired with a more rigid and lightweight body, and the aerodynamic design of the Odyssey are expected to result in class-leading performance and top-in-class EPA fuel economy ratings. Honda’s Intelligent Traction Management system adds normal and snow modes and combines with Agile Handling Assist and a more powerful braking system for improved all-weather traction and control.
