2017 Honda Civic Si Prototype Changes and Release Date
When it comes to producing a fun and sporty compact car, it can be easily argued that no one has done it better than Honda with its Civic Si. Now that the entire Honda Civic lineup has been redesigned and unveiled, we finally got our first taste of the new performance model at the LA Auto Show in the form of a Honda Civic Si Prototype. There is a lot that we learned about the vehicle, including the 2017 Honda Civic Si Prototype changes and release date.
Sporty Redesign with Performance Inspired Features
As you can see, the 2017 Honda Civic Si Prototype looks almost nothing like the model it replaces. The exterior design is similar to the one that now graces the 2017 Honda Civic, but with an even sportier edge. The vehicle receives a full Factory Performance aero kit, a center-mounted polygonal exhaust and 19-inch high-performance tires. Many of these enhancements will be making their way over to the production model!
Turbocharged Power Under the Hood
While exact specs for the motor were not given, we do know that the 2017 Honda Civic Si will be powered by an all-new 1.5-liter direct-injected turbocharged motor. This engine promises to deliver high-performance and high-torque which will result in the vehicle being the fastest and most powerful Civic Si ever.
Sporty Interior Provided by the Civic Si
As we have seen with Civic Si models in the past, the interior is often much different than the interior in the standard Civic. That is once again the case with the 2017 Honda Civic Si, which will utilize Si-exclusive sport front seats, as well as other unique trim details, to make it a vehicle completely unique on its own.
Coming Next Year to Heritage Honda
The 2017 Honda Civic Si is set to go on sale next summer, before the rollout of the 2018 Honda Civic Type R. If you have any questions about the 2017 Honda Civic Si Prototype changes and release date, please get in touch with one of our Heritage Honda sales team members.
